Description
* Commercially made 1930s black wool coat
* Classic period silhouette with cinching just below waist
* Long sleeves with open slit at wrist
* Sleeves are rounded and lightly padded at shoulder seam
* Coat features insert panels in a horizontal M shape on each side (refer pic)
* Inbuilt sash tie with small decorative button
* Coat also fastens with internal ties, one external tie and two self buttons
* One of the buttons fastens the neck and the larger one near waist
* Astrakhan wool trim panels down full length of coat and on the collar
* Fully lined in black satin
* Label reads Franklin Simon's 5th Avenue New York
Condition
This is an amazing 1930s coat in many ways. Firstly, the construction is obviously high end ( the label tells you that), and it has so many design details that really set it apart from the rest, It's also in great condition for its age. Tiniest bit of wear on astrakhan but not at all noticeable. Really in amazing condition, considering its wool and around 90 years of age. A gorgeous coat! Cleaned and ready to wear. LayBys/Layaways
Yes we do offer flexible layby/layaway options and are open to negotiation as to the time period. Obviously, the more expensive the item the longer the time you will have to finalise payment. Contact us to see how accommodating we can be :)
Alterations
Obviously, as these are one- off pieces, the fit may not be quite what you need. To this end, we also offer an alteration service by professional seamstresses. Please shoot us an email outlining what you want and we will quickly respond with a quote and timeframe. Costs are kept to a minimum for this service.
