* High quality mid 1960s Space Age designer dress
* Fabric features wide strips of pink and blue separated by smaller strips of taupe and white
* Classic mod silhouette with a-line skirt
* Sleeveless bodice with contrasting pink Peter Pan collar
* Two large applied pockets with flap opening on either side below hips
* Large rounded white buttons with gold accents on collar and pockets
* Fully lined in white acetate, serged seams with hand finished hem
* Back with nylon zipper
* Label reads Schipara with 100% Trevira
Trevira Fabric replaced crimplene as the important fabric in the fashion industry for young designers of the late 1960s. It was considered ‘the’ fabric of its time and utilised by top designers all over the world. Due to its versatility, the fabric was perfect for mini shift dresses and A line coats as it was lightweight but with ample body. It also did not deform when wet and dried very quickly. Designers also loved it because of the vivid colours and patterns that could be made using this fabric.
Condition
Space age dresses are so unique, featuring bold fashion elements and unusual designs. They are also hard to find. I love this period and the design on this one is a real beauty. Its also in excellent condition for its age. Looks hardly worn, no faults that I can see. Cleaned and ready to wear. Please drop us a line if your require additional information about this listing.
