Forstmann was a maker of woollen yarns and fabrics, but they did not actually produce finished clothing. The company was formed in 1904 by the Forstmann family, German immigrants with a long history of fabric-making. Forstmann products were very high quality, and their label was proudly displayed alongside that of the garment maker’s.
Condition
A beautiful high-end 1940s coat, tailored to flatter the figure. It's in excellent condition for its age with no notable flaws that I can see. There is a tiny bit of wear (rubs) to the velvet trim but really not an issue. I have included a close up in last photo. A couple of tiny holes in the lining, not noticeable when wearing and not an issue structurally. Cleaned and ready to wear.
