The Joan Miller clothing line began in 1940 and continued through to 1960. It produced stylish yet affordable apparel for young women. Liz Claiborne was one of the designers for the Joan Miller label during the 1950s, she later went on to establish her own highly successful brand.
Comment
This beautiful dress has been carefully looked after and is in excellent condition for its age. Notwithstanding the dress is over sixty years old, it has no noticeable flaws that I can see. It looks as if it was never worn. The fabric is strong and the colour vibrant. A magazine advertisement of the period features the very dress and is included for information.
