Description
* Striking lake 1950s - early 1960s quality cotton lace Dress
* Classic silhouette with cinched waist and full skirt
* Sleeveless bodice with wide squared neckline and shelf bust
* Bodice consists of cream tape lace that ends in a scalloped design just below waist
* Full skirt in black cotton lace
* Bodice is lined in cream and skirt in black taffeta
* Pinked seams with hand finished hem
* Low back with long metal zipper
* Label reads Miss Elliette
Miss Elliette was a label owned and designed by Elliette Ellis. After studying at the Traphagen School of Fashion and working for a dress manufacturer, Ellis started her own line in 1952. She made mid-priced dinner and cocktail dresses that were very feminine, even in the 1960s and 1970s when fashion had moved in a different direction. Despite this, the line was very successful. Condition
This dress is in excellent condition for its age. No notable flaws that I can see, apart from tiny bit of discolouration on neckline. Hardly noticeable as seen in close up photo, The hem has been shortened from original length and can easily be let down. Cleaned and ready to wear.
