* Dress fabric is lace with a floral design and the coat is in nylon
* Classic silhouette with a defined waist and straight skirt
* Dress has short sleeves and a V-shaped neckline
* Hem on dress is scalloped
* Over-jacket is loose fitting with long gathered sleeves and wide cuffs
* Satin piping around edges of coat including collar with matching buttons at cuffs
* Matching satin belt with a metal zipper at rear

Paula Dean Originals
Etta Gurstel of Minneapolis, along with her husband Jules, were the founders of the highly successful Paula Dean Company in 1949. During the 1950s and 1960s the company was the world's largest manufacturer of half-size dresses in the medium-priced market. The label aimed at the 'womanly' end of the market, where there was a perceived need for apparel that didn't sacrifice style for fit. Paula Dean Originals preferred easy-care materials, lined dresses and jacket and coat ensembles that also had a sleeved dress underneath. Etta's philosophy was *to prove that a woman doesn't have to throw in the fashion sponge just because she is a grown-up junior, or because she has reached the age when a few extra pounds have settled around her midriff." Her designers were briefed to follow the newest fashion trends with a discriminating and selective eye to produce dresses that were flattering to the figure and 'on trend'. I think this outfit is a perfect example.

Excellent vintage condition.
No notable flaws that I can see. - a bit of dinginess to the belt.

Currently, standard packages within Australia take 4 to 6 business days from receipt of the package at the Post Office. However, there may be exceptions due to the impact of COVID-19. Overseas packages take between 7 to 10 days.
We also offer expedited DHL shipping which provides a fast and reliable shipping option if you prefer quick receipt of your item.
Availability
This item is within our selling stock. In the unlikely event that two buyers purchase this item concurrently, payment will be immediately refunded to the latter purchaser. We apologize in advance should this rare circumstance arise.
LayBys/Layaways

Obviously, as these are one-off pieces, the fit may not be quite what you need. To this end, we also offer an alteration service by professional seamstresses. Please shoot us an email outlining what you want and we will quickly respond with a quote and timeframe. Costs are kept to a minimum for this service.
